Overview
CreditStrong accounts are designed to help you build credit, not to provide direct personal financing.
It’s common to notice a balance in your CreditStrong Savings Account and wonder why those funds aren’t available to withdraw or transfer. The answer comes down to how CreditStrong accounts are structured.
When you open a CreditStrong account, you’re opening a credit‑building loan. The balance you see represents the loan amount being held securely while you make your monthly payments. Those funds act as collateral for the loan, which is why they aren’t accessible right away.
Once the loan is fully repaid, the funds become available to you.
How credit-building installment loans work
When you open a CreditStrong installment account (Instal, CSmax, Magnum) account, you're starting a credit-builder loan.
Here’s what happens:
- The full loan amount is placed into a locked savings account in your name
- You make monthly payments toward the loan
- As payments are made, payment history is reported to the credit bureaus
- Once the loan is paid in full, the savings funds are unlocked and released to you (minus any applicable interest or fees)
This structure allows you to build payment history and improve your credit over time. Until the loan is paid off, the savings funds are not available for withdrawal or transfer.

What about Revolv?
Revolv works a little differently, but the goal is the same: building credit.
Revolv is designed to add a revolving line of credit to your credit profile. Like our installment accounts, Revolv is not intended to provide early access to funds for purchases or personal expenses.
Revolv credit lines can only be used for advances to the linked savings account when an optional Monthly Savings Plan is set up, not for spending.
