Overview
If you believe your CreditStrong account has been reported inaccurately, there are a few important steps to take before filing a dispute.
Starting in the right place can help resolve issues faster and avoid unnecessary delays.
What to do first
Before filing a dispute:
- Check your Customer Portal
The portal shows the most up‑to‑date information on your account. Sometimes what looks like an error is simply a timing or reporting delay. - Contact us directly
If there is a true reporting error, we can often investigate and correct it more quickly than going through the credit bureaus.
Let us know what you’re concerned about and we’ll review the details with you.
Filing a dispute, if needed
If a correction can’t be resolved directly and a dispute is necessary, you may file one with the credit bureau showing the inaccurate information.
Disputes are intended to correct inaccurate information, such as:
- Incorrect balances
- Payments marked late when they were made on time
- Incorrect account status
They are not meant to remove information that is accurate but unfavorable.
Important reminder
Please don’t file a dispute just because information is unfamiliar or because it temporarily impacts your score. Disputing accurate information can delay updates and slow your credit‑building progress.
If you’re unsure whether something is truly incorrect, reach out to our Support Team first. We’re happy to walk through it with you!
