What to expect when changing plans
When your changes take effect depends on the type of change you make and when.
Some changes can happen right away. For example, if you move to a more expensive plan your changes may begin immediately!
Some changes may start on your next renewal date. This is more common when moving to a lower-cost plan, or just changing your billing frequency.
Changing plans early
You can change your plan freely within 15 days of your signup date. We'll simply refund your original subscription fee, charge the new one, and your plan changes will take effect right away.
Payments and refunds with a debit card are typically completed within a business day, while payments and refunds with a checking account (ACH) process in about four business days.
Later plan changes
If you want to change plans further into your subscription period, that's okay too!
Changing to a more expensive plan
The new subscription fee will be charged based on how much time you have left in your current subscription period. You'll have the chance to review all changes and applicable charges/refunds before you confirm your choice.
Changing to a cheaper plan
When changing to a cheaper option Revolv Subscription, the new price and changes to your subscription will take effect on your next scheduled subscription date.
If you pay your subscription on the 1st of each month and change to a cheaper plan in the middle of the month, your new billing terms begin on the 1st of the next month.
Changing plans if your subscription fee is denied
If your ongoing subscription fee payment fails, you will have 30 days to make the payment before the subscription is cancelled and the account is closed.
You may also change your plan freely at any time during this 30-day window. We'll charge the new subscription you choose and change your plan right away so you can keep building on a plan that's right for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose any progress if I change my subscription?
Your existing Revolv line of credit will be updated to reflect any changes you make to your subscription, meaning the length of history and any payment history you've built will stay.
For members who have ugraded credit lines with savings plans, your new credit line will start at the initial limit of the plan you choose. Your current progress towards your 3x monthly payments will carry over, but increasses to your credit line will not transfer to your updated subscription.
Can I pause and restart my Revolv subscription?
Revolv subscribers can either switch plans or cancel. If you're on a monthly plan and want to save money while keeping the credit history you've built, switching to a cheaper plan is a good choice.
Your tradeline may shrink and credit monitoring benefits might reduce, but you'll keep the valuable history you've built.
To lower your monthly costs, consider Revolv's annual payment options, which offer a discount compared to paying month-to-month for the same plan over 12 months!
Can I switch Installment plans, or move from a Revolv plan to an Installment plan?
Installment plans have set repayment terms and cannot be changed once started.
Revolv builds credit with a revolving tradeline, which can be adjusted as you go. Instal and MAGNUM are credit building installment loans and cannot be adjusted once you've started.
You can have credit builders of each type open at the same time, but since they build different types of credit, the history can't be transferred between them.
I was charged right away when changing plans but I haven't received the refund yet. When should I expect it?
Charges and refunds work on slightly different timelines. Charges are typically processed instantly at the point of sale, while refunds are typically handled in batches, often once per business day, and require some additional processing by both banks involved in the transaction.
Debit card transactions are typically much faster – Both charges and refunds are typically processed within 1-2 business days.
Transactions with a checking account (ACH) may take up to 4 business days to process. You may see a pre-authorization or a pending refund when using a checking account before the money is actually moved to or from your account.
When should I expect changes to my Revolv plan to appear on my credit report?
We'll report changes to your Revolv plan as soon as possible, typically within a business day of the effective change date.
The credit bureaus will accept our reports and calculate changes to your credit profile on their own. While sometimes faster, changes to your credit report could take up to 30 days to be processed by the credit bureaus, and changes may not appear with all three bureaus at once.
What happens to my credit if my Revolv tradeline gets bigger? What about smaller?
Revolv is all about reducing your credit utilization, which is measured on a rolling basis.
By increasing or decreasing the size of your Revolv tradeline you can expect your total credit utilization to be affected, which may move your score up or down depending on the other items on your credit report.
It's best to keep your total credit utilization below 30%. If you're considering a plan change it's good to know your current utilization rate.
